Mr. Mims has been a professional STEM educator for over 20 years, this includes teaching courses in robotics, computer programing, and physical science. Mr. Mims founded Science Prep Academy, after connecting the dots on the characteristics of autistic people and the characteristics of people in the physics and computer science workforce. Specializing in STEM educational solutions, he has traveled the world extensively promoting diversity and inclusion in STEM education and workforce development.
Mr. Mims obtained a B.S. in physics from Hampton University and completed his Master’s degree in Science Education at Georgia State University. He was elected to the Winslow Township (NJ) school board at the age of 24. Mr. Mims is a Marshall Memorial Fellow, National Hope Street Group Teacher Fellow, and 2019 Albert Einstein Fellow (DOE).
